The Rest & Resilience Project, Founder

Hi, I’m Destiny, and I started The Rest & Resilience Project because everywhere I turned whether it was colleagues, friends, family, even people I barely knew I kept hearing the same quiet admission:

“I’m exhausted. I don’t feel like myself anymore.”

At first, I assumed burnout was a millennial or Gen-Z thing, a side effect of our hustle culture. But the more conversations I had, the more clear it became that burnout isn’t generational. It’s universal. It’s affecting people across ages, industries, backgrounds, and identities. And most importantly… it’s hurting people who think they’re supposed to just “push through it.”

I’ve watched people I love lose their spark, their health, and their sense of self to burnout. I’ve walked through my own seasons of deep exhaustion too. The kind where rest doesn’t feel like enough, and getting through the day feels like a full-time job.

And what struck me most was everyone was suffering quietly, alone, believing it was a personal failure instead of a systemic issue.

So I created The Rest & Resilience Project as a response. It is a gentle rebellion against the idea that we should simply cope, endure, or carry on.

This project exists to build:

  • A community where people feel safe talking about burnout openly

  • Spaces for real recovery, not just temporary relief

  • Pathways toward sustainable, human-first living and working

  • Partnerships with mental health professionals who can provide grounding, evidence-based support

I believe deeply that rest is a right, not a reward and that empathy, community care, and sustainable success are the foundations of a healthier future. I’m committed to helping people move from survival mode to genuine restoration, one conversation, one workshop, one small step at a time.

If you’re here, you’re not alone and I’m so glad you found your way to this space.
We’re building something different. Something human. Something hopeful.

Welcome to The Rest & Resilience Project. We heal better together.

Warmly,
Destiny Rhodes
